Jebus is one
of the first names of Jerusalem.
It is mentioned in the Bible several times:
" ...and (he) came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem."
(Judges 19:10).
The Jebusites, the residents who defended the city against King David,
were
probably of Caananite origin, as mentioned in Ezekiel 16:3:
"...thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother a Hittite."
